The Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Limited (HAFFA) has announced a new partnership with Italy’s Spediporto, the Association of the Genoa Freight Forwarding companies, after the two associations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at further strengthening the collaboration and cooperation between the organisations and their members.
Lined up by InvestHK, HAFFA chairman Brian Wu and Spediporto president Alessandro Pitto signed the agreement on November 21 at a ceremony at the Novotel Century Hong Kong, which followed an introductory seminar focusing on Italian ports.
The agreement looks to further develop the relationship between the two associations and their members, while providing opportunities to share information and establish regular dialogue on salient policy issues.
Through the agreement, both associations will seek collaborative opportunities in freight forwarding activities, and to share expert guidance on common subjects. Both HAFFA and Spediporto will, in the event of any trade issues between members, aim to establish a channel of communication for effective resolution of any dispute.
“On behalf of HAFFA, we are delighted to sign a MoU with Spediporto and we are looking forward to a close and fruitful cooperation,” said Wu. “At HAFFA, we are not only committed to representing our members, but also to providing them with opportunities to establish new partnerships and collaborations. In Spediporto, we are delighted to work with a dynamic and forward-thinking association which shares with HAFFA the common goals of furthering dialogue, communication and the promotion of industry best practices in the evolving freight forwarding and logistics environment.”
Both associations are committed to enhancing the international forwarding and logistics industry, and the objectives of the MoU reflect the associations’ dedication to remaining at the forefront of the industry as it faces new challenges. The MoU also provides opportunities for association members to establish strategic partnerships, bridging Europe and Asia more effectively than ever before.
