In 2016, it’s easy to see that the future of logistics is paved with innovation and technology. Many businesses all over the world are looking for innovative ways to reduce supply chain waste and modernise the industry as a whole. Many industry insiders have pointed out that the size of the logistics industry needs to continually grow in order to become a stronger industry in the future. Insiders have also pointed out that supply chain management is about understanding and operating an easily overpowering set of variables to achieve a deceivingly simple result: delivering on-time and within budget. The more knowledge the supply chain service provider has, whether it’s an internal or an outsourced function within the end-user organisation – the better and more consistent the results. 2 Flow created an infographic that outlines the role of these emerging trends and why they must be implemented moving into the digital future.
