SCHENKER SEALS SECURITY CERTIFICATION IN MALAYSIA

Schenker Logistics (Malaysia) has become the first company in Malaysia to attain the ISO 28000:2007 certifications on Supply Chain Security. This certification, which was audited and issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), is a specification for the security management system of the supply chain that also includes risk assessment and operational systems for dealing with fraud, among other elements.

“This indeed underscores our commitment to constantly enhance our security systems with the aim of minimizing the risks of interruptions in the global supply chain,” said Wolfgang Laabs, managing director of Schenker Logistics (M).

During the last couple of years DB Schenker has notably expanded its presence in Malaysia and now has more than 1,200 employees and over 108,000 square meters of warehousing capacity in twelve locations across the country. Most recently, in 2009, a 7,000 square meter logistics facility was opened in Kulim High Tech Park.
