Toll Appoints Non-Executive Director

Toll announced the appointment of Nicola Wakefield Evans as a non-executive director.

“The Board has been assessing candidates for some time to ensure appropriate skill-sets are represented and it’s fair to say Ms Wakefield Evans’ candidature was outstanding,” said Toll’s chairman Ray Horsburgh AM.

“Ms Wakefield Evans has worked at the highest levels of her profession advising some of the world’s largest and most successful companies in Asia, Australia and elsewhere around the world.”

“Well known in Asia, Ms Wakefield Evans has been rated by a number of publications as one of Australia’s leading M&A, corporate governance, commercial and media lawyers. She was also nominated as one of the world’s leading lawyers in Hong Kong.”

"She only recently became available to join a major company board after returning to Australia from Hong Kong where she spent four years as managing partner international and as an M&A partner for the law firm, Mallesons Stephens Jaques,” Horsburgh said.

Wakefield Evans said: “The opportunity to join the board of Toll Holdings, Asia’s leading transport and logistics company, is very exciting for me.”

“The Toll name is well-known in Asia. It has made good progress in bringing professional outsourced logistics to the Asian marketplace and is an Australian company with a particularly bright future there.”

“I am delighted to have the chance to join the Board and be part of its future growth.”

Wakefield Evans is 50 years old and a qualified lawyer in Australia, Hong Kong and the UK. She will take up her role immediately.
