The Logistics & Supply Chain Management Society
The Regional Professional Boday for Logistics Practitioners
With the rise in demand, the Australian Logistics Academy (ALA) Diploma program will be available in multiple venues with face-to-face weekend tutorials in multiple Asia Pacific venues in 2010.
Aside from Vietnam, the Diploma will be available in Shenzhen, China, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore. This is probably the first program of its kind offered in multiple venues within Asia Pacific. Professionals who pursue the program are able to attend the weekend sessions in multiple venues to suit their time and travel requirements, with more venues being added in 2010.
They will also have access to the ALA’s online learning room which connects them to the hundreds of other students who pursue this program from 13 other countries across the globe.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Members of our student chapter at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore will be available for internship programs between the following dates over the next two years:
• Sept 2009 – February 2010
• March 2010 – August 2010
• Sep 2010 – February 2011
These students are enrolled in the Ngee Ann’s Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management and we have had very positive feedback from not only the students themselves but also from the companies that they have served internships with.
NIGHT LOGISTICS
Our industry networking session for Singapore in October 2009 will be a visit to the Jurong Fisheries Port. Members who attend will get to see how fish and other marine produce arrive in Singapore for sale in local wet markets and supermarkets.
Members who have attended previous trips have even taken the opportunity to buy some of these produce at wholesale prices and have had an excellent time and learning experience on how this important supply chain works. Registration and admission is free.
