SQL View is collaborating with Motorola Solutions to develop and market facility management solutions for the healthcare industry in Asia Pacific.
The first outcome of the collaboration is a comprehensive facility management solution for hospitals built on SQL View's Buildfolio software, delivered on Motorola's handheld mobile computers, the FR68 and MC55.
The solution enables hospitals to manage their complex operations and facilities, from specialized medical facilities and equipment to common building assets. It contributes to minimal equipment downtime, improved operational efficiency and delivery of better patient care.
The hospital facility management solution from SQL View and Motorola addresses the highly complex structure and operations in hospital administration and facility management. It manages specialized facilities and equipment, such as operating theatres, laboratories, and diagnostic equipment, as well as large numbers of common building assets including air handling units (AHUs), heating, ventilating and air-conditioning units (HVACs), lights and lifts.
It is also able to differentiate the extent of maintenance required based on the cost and significance of the facility.
Hospitals need to ensure that specialized facilities operate 24/7 to deliver critical care to patients. Facility management is carried out in hospitals to achieve minimal downtime for critical health facilities, improve service delivery, support energy-efficient operations, as well as improve air quality to safeguard patients and health workers for infection and hazard control.
SQL View's Buildfolio software is a mobile, Web-based solution that includes extensive modules for addressing every aspect of facility management in hospitals. Buildfolio leverages the use of mobile devices for quick and efficient data capture, facilitating efficient workflow processes and better decision-making.
In addition to maintaining a comprehensive list of medical equipment which requires regular preventive checks, the software creates a checklist of recommended maintenance works and captures the service history of every piece of equipment.
Its highly configurable parameters make it a flexible solution for meeting the stringent demands for facility uptime in hospitals. The solution can be configured to provide multiple levels of management escalation, with automatic alerts when maintenance works are not carried out on time.
The Motorola FR68 and the MC55 are the two handheld mobile computers on which this solution is being offered. Both the mobile devices are compact and light-weight and incorporate multiple connectivity options such as 3.5G, WLAN and personal area network (PAN).
The devices also have in-built barcode scanner with 1D or 2D options, a high resolution colour camera, touch screen navigation, with a range of companion accessories.
