SCOR GRANTS STILL ON OFFER

The S$1 million (US$700,000) fund to encourage companies to improve supply chain capabilities, announced last year by the Singapore Manufacturer’s Federation (SMa), is still waiting to be spent, according to iCognitive, a consultancy specializing in the SCOR model and SMa’s partner in the program.

The improvement is being sought through the implementation of the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model, a framework for business processes, performance measurements, and best practices, endorsed by the Supply Chain Council.

SMa’s e-Supply Chain Management (eSCM) center of excellence has selected SCOR as a tool for upgrading the supply chain of manufacturers, logistics and services providers. Up to 70 percent of project costs can be funded on a reimbursement basis up to a cap of S$250,000.

“SCOR allows you to set targets based on future market conditions and current capabilities. Measurement and forecasting operational efficiencies is crucial at all levels of supply chain management,” said John Paul, managing director of iCognitive.
