SCHAEFER BUILDS FOR FUTURE

SSI Schaefer Singapore has won a S$9 million (US$6 million) equipment contract to outfit electronics component distributor Future Electronics new warehouse facility inSingapore

Since the beginning of 2009, installation works have commenced for Future’s distribution center covering over 10,000 square meters in terms of floor area. More than 25,000 shelf and 540 pallet locations are scheduled to be ready by middle of this year, coupled with order picking, conveyer and order consolidation systems, as well as warehouse control and material flow software.

The distribution center will replace Future Electronics’ existing facility in Singapore and cater for the company’s expansions in the Asia Pacific region. A privately held company with over 5,000 employees worldwide, Future Electronics is in the global top three of electronic component distributors.
