Panalpina Japan Celebrates its 40th Anniversary

A reception has been held at the Swiss embassy in Tokyo to celebrate 40 years of Panalpina market presence in Japan. CEO Monika Ribar looked back on the company’s history together with guests, customers and partners.

“I am proud to celebrate the long business history of Panalpina in Japan together with you today. Forty years after establishing our first delegation office in Tokyo, we today have offices in Osaka, Narita, Nagoya, and Fukuoka where ninety-five Panalpina employees serve Japanese and international customers”, she said.

Coinciding with the anniversary, the company is preparing to become a fully operational entity as Panalpina and the NYK Group have realigned the level of their cooperation. “We will be able to offer a wider range of services to our existing and potential customers by insourcing key air and ocean freight processes”, Ribar emphasized. “This latest milestone reflects our deep commitment to Japan with its vibrant marketplace that remains as exciting, dynamic, and fascinating as in 1969 when we started our business activities here”, she added.
