PANALPINA CELEBRATES SINGAPORE EXPANSION

CEO Monika Ribar highlighted the strategic importance of Singapore to the Panalpina Group when she flew in from the company headquarters in Switzerland to open the Distribution and Logistics Center located in Changi North, some five minutes travel time from the republic’s Changi Airport.
“This facility”, she declared, “is more than just another warehouse. It is also a signal that we are ready to offer our customers topquality services and infrastructure – wherever and whenever they need them.” Ribar also stressed Panalpina’s intention of maintaining its commitment to Singapore without interruption and to strengthen it.
The main office and warehouse complex (Changi North 16) comprises an area of 11,300 square meters, with the 8,500 sq m warehouse assigned as Panalpina’s main regional cross-dock and merge-in-transit hub in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Changi North 12 (4,500 sq m) has been developed as a Pharmaceutical and Healthcare hub, to meet specific industry and regulatory requirements for the storage and handling of medicinal products.
Joining Monika Ribar at the launch ceremony, Tan Choon Shian, assistant managing director, Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), said, “We warmly welcome Panalpina’s expansion in Singapore, and believe our excellent connectivity and worldclass infrastructure will enhance Panalpina’s ability to harness Asia’s growth potential.”
Panalpina says that its new Singapore facility also meets all latest security requirements, being officially certified in accordance with the STP (Secure Trade Partnership).
