MODULAR 3.5G MOBILE COMPUTER
- Posted on 01 September 2009

Just out from from Motorola is the MC9500 handheld computer, which leverages the functionality of the existing MC9000 and introduces new capabilities such as modular 3.5G WAN, a universal accessory system, and a new approach to battery management.
The MC9500 provides support for GSM HSDPA or CDMA-EVDO Rev A wireless broadband connectivity in one device – allowing customers to select the 3.5G network for their needs. The universal accessory system helps maximize backroom efficiency by optimizing the space needed for mobile computers, charging cradles, power packs and cables. Meanwhile, information indicators on the battery allow users to see the charge level.
Interactive sensor technology (IST) is a new feature that supports motion-sensing applications. For example, in signature capture, the integrated accelerometer allows the display to dynamically switch between portrait and landscape modes based on the orientation of the device.
