Manhattan Associates has been named winner of the China Logistics and Purchasing Federation's 'Best IT Project in 2010' Award. Manhattan received the award for the successful deployment of its solution, Manhattan SCALE (Supply Chain Architected for Logistics Execution), for client Tingtong Logistics.
The award recognised Manhattan for its innovative contribution to automating business processes in the logistics industry, its clear understanding of Tingtong Logistics' business objectives and for the way in which its people, and their knowledge and expertise, helped Tingtong Logistics meet those objectives. Manhattan SCALE helped Tingtong Logistics to improve operational efficiency, increase labour productivity and deliver impressive cost savings following deployment of the solution at the first 31 of a total of 58 sites across China.
Roger Chou, IT director, Tingtong Logistics, said, "Manhattan SCALE has given us centralised control over our distribution function, improved our operational efficiency and allowed us to improve the service levels we provide to our customers. The highly configurable and flexible nature of Manhattan SCALE is one aspect of the solution that really sets it apart from rival offerings. As our business grows, Manhattan SCALE will grow with us, extending our capabilities, while decreasing operational costs."
The China Logistics and Purchasing Federation awards are designed to highlight the importance of supply chain and logistics excellence by rewarding outstanding performance of leading IT providers. The 2010 awards event was hosted in Hangzhou on September 8th.
Dai Dingyi, vice chairman, China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing said, "The China Logistics and Purchasing Federation is keen to showcase successful examples of innovative and practical application of IT solutions that deliver business success, enable businesses to automate and optimise their logistics and purchasing processes and facilitate the adoption of global best practice in the way organisations manage their supply chains. Manhattan Associates demonstrated its understanding of the needs of local Chinese companies and the dynamics of the logistics sector in China. The award is recognition of its contribution to automating processes in China's logistics industry and to its outstanding service capability."
Manhattan SCALE is designed to be 'scaled to fit and ready to run' for companies with execution-focused supply chain needs who desire speed-to-value and resource-light system configuration, implementation and maintenance.
Manhattan SCALE is a portfolio of distribution management and transportation management solutions built on Microsoft.NET technology. It leverages sophisticated optimisation techniques to improve the flow of goods throughout supply chains, which enables companies to tie together processes, data and workflows to increase order accuracy, improve deliveries and gain total visibility into inventory.
Jeff Baum, Manhattan Associates' senior vice president, International (Asia Pacific), commented, "It is always an honour to have our performance singled out with a key industry award. This award is an important recognition of the depth of Manhattan Associates' commitment to bringing innovation and delivering high quality solutions and services to our customers and the region."
