Intermec Appoints Mike Muller as VP, GM Asia Pacific
Intermec announced that Mike Muller has been appointed vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific. Mike will be responsible for driving growth for Intermec in the APAC region and in working with product generation teams to deliver the right product requirements and roadmap for the region.
Reporting to Jim McDonnell, Intermec SVP of global sales, Mike’s role will focus on growing the current sales and channel business structure to a full-scale business model, as well as developing and executing competitive strategies for the growing Chinese market and the APAC as a whole.
‘The Asia Pacific supply chain sector is a rapidly evolving market and customers across the region have varied technology needs. Ensuring the right technology is available for the right local conditions is critical is a challenge I am confident Intermec will meet,’ said Mike Muller vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific. ‘I am pleased to have joined Intermec at an exciting time in the company’s development.’
Mike brings with him a wealth of experience spanning sales, channel management, marketing and operations. His last role was vice president of Motorola’s enterprise mobility business for Asia Pacific. Prior to the Motorola acquisition, he was the Asia Pacific vice president of Symbol Technologies.
During his tenure at Motorola/Symbol Mike successfully developed and implemented a growth program which saw significant investment in China, India and Southeast Asia, while expanding geographically in Australia and New Zealand. This yielded record revenue, improved margin and reduced days sales outstanding.
Mike also previously spent 16 years at HP where he held a number of senior Asia Pacific leadership roles in sales, channel management, marketing operations and services.
"Mike shares the same passion I have for delivering results, and his track record speaks for itself," said Jim McDonnell, SVP of global sales.
Jansen Ek, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific left Intermec on July 29, 2011. During Jansen’s three years at Intermec, he has made major advancements in sales and channels development, as well as built a strong and motivated team that works collaboratively across all functions within APAC.
“Jansen has been driving strong results, yielding more than 100 percent quarterly performance results, with consistent performance across all sub regions for the last eight quarters. APAC is a stronger organisation now than it was three years ago,” said McDonnell. “I would like to personally thank Jansen for his time at Intermec and wish him well in the next chapter of his life.”
