Dual Frequency RFID Tag for Vehicle Tracking
- Posted on 11 February 2009
SkyRFID has announced the availability of the low profile long distance dual frequency windshield tag. With a size of 100 mm x 50 mm (4 inches x 2 inches) the tag easily attaches to the inside of the windshield with the embedded low surface energy, pressure sensitive adhesive on one side.
The windshield side of the tag can have barcodes with the human readable equivalent and up to 3 colors of printing for logos, stylized type and designs. The barcode, human readable equivalent and the tag ID’s can be coded to be the same numeric value for ease of system integration.
This tag development enables companies to seamlessly move into the SkyRFID long range Gen 2 access solutions. It allows them to keep their existing investments in handheld bar code readers, or handheld 13.56 MHz RFID readers commonly used by parking enforcement officers.
Since some companies are also using standard PDAs, the human readable identification can easily be keyed into the PDA for instant vehicle authorization verification. For those entities that require 13.56 MHz or 900 MHz portable readers, SkyRFID is introducing two models that come equipped with GPRS and Wi-Fi for online real-time verification of vehicles.
