DHL EYES MALAYSIAN SMES
In the face of falling trade barriers and stiff domestic competition, DHL wants to help Malaysian SMEs meet their local and international trade goals. The company recently launched three bundledsolutions.
For start-up companies breaking into new markets and are unfamiliar with the business environment, DHL SME Logistics Solutions provides products and services such as Globalmail Business, which offers costeffective direct mailing solutions with pick-up by DHL Express courier and delivery by postal network; and DHL Import Express, offering affordable doorto- door import of documents and non-documents by the end of the next possible business day.
For SMEs that have gained a foothold in new markets and aiming to expand business opportunities regionally, DHL offers a greater portfolio, including Airportto- Door Express, providing speedy import of shipments with drop-off at DHL facility and delivery by the end of the next possible business day; and DHL Air Freight Forwarding, which provides timedefined specialized freight forwarding via standardized connections and fixed schedules on all main routes with commercial airlines and chartered flights.
For SMEs that have successfully established a global presence and aim to become a known global player with worldwide operations, DHL offers services that include warehousing and distribution, inventory management, and supply chain consultancy to identify steps needed to improve productivity and reduce costs. Says Dato’ Sri Rafidah Aziz, Minister of International Trade & Industry, Malaysia who officiated the launch, “The so-called ‘jaguh kampung’ needs to strive towards becoming ‘jaguh dunia’.”
