Axxom Develops Offer Calculation Software for Logistics Services

Axxom has developed an offer calculation solution for logistics services: ORion-PI Tender Management. The software enables logistics service providers to calculate offers for warehouse outsourcing and warehousing services, thus increasing the financial planning reliability when responding to bid invitations. Axxom will present the solution for the first time at the IMHX fair (hall 20, booth F95) taking place from the 16th to 19th of November in Birmingham.

ORion-PI Tender Management helps logistics service providers to calculate the overall costs of new outsourcing orders, identify the staffing requirements including the respective qualifications and calculate the required staff costs. The software also supports the integration of new customers in the logistics service provider’s warehouse. In addition, it presents the financial effects of changes concerning the order structures, order or item quantities that increase the process complexity and therefore the related costs.

For offer calculations, it determines in a first step staff requirement figures and costs related to the respective logistics services. This information is provided in user-defined reports and serves as a basis for further cost calculations and offer preparation. In a second step, the software defines the overall costs of the logistics handling for a potential customer together with the fixed costs.

Various graphic display options enable a clear and comprehensible presentation of the results. Thus it provides the basis for professional offer presentations and documents when acquiring new customers.

“The estimation and calculation of offers is often related to a high time and cost effort while also being subject to a relatively high forecast error risk,” says Dr Maren Martens, head of optimization and consulting, Axxom. “Our solution ORion-PI Tender Management helps to increase the transparency of costs, performance and quality of warehousing services and calculate offers reliably and efficiently.”
