Air Charter Service Provides Transport Solution For Australian Mine

Air Charter Service (ACS) has provided a time-critical charter solution to an offline Australian mine, overcoming multiple obstacles to source transport for the urgently needed machinery essential to the site's operations.

A leading freight forwarder approached the global charter broker's Hong Kong office seeking urgent transport for an outsized piece of equipment. The cargo was situated in Nanjing and the routing down to Perth needed permits that would usually take much longer than the time available to acquire. However, utilising a vast database of operators and agents the company's aviation professionals sourced an Ilyusin IL-76 with the necessary permits.

Due to the cargo's unusual shape and size, detailed planning was required to safely load and secure it within the aircraft. ACS liaised with the loadmaster to create a solution, allowing the flight to keep to its tight schedule and get the urgently required equipment to its destination as soon as possible.

The final major obstacle presented itself in the form of a last minute payload increase from 26,800 kg to 30,100 kg, requiring an additional technical stop and subsequently an additional permit which was received just in time.
