TNT Opens New Operations Center in Hanoi

Logistics Insight Asia - Industry News, 1/9/2008

TNT Express has launched its new TNT International and Domestic Operations Centre, North in Hanoi, Vietnam. Designed to handle heavy freight, the new facility is part of TNT’s strategy to leverage the soaring demand for freight express services between Vietnam, the rest of Southeast Asia, China and Europe to grow its business in the region.

Located in the ICD My Dinh, Tu Liem District in the Hanoi capital, the new facility spans 1,200m2 and employs 90 full-time staff who will manage the operations of the facility 24/7. The new facility arrives as part of an investment of 1 million euros in developments in the city, which in turn, form part of the company’s Southeast Asia-wide investment of 100 million euros over the next five years to build a leadership position in the region. The investment took off in April this year when TNT’s Boeing 747-400 ER Freighter was re-routed to stop at Singapore en route to Shanghai, China from its air hub in Liege, Belgium.
