Restrictions to be Lifted in 2009 on China Textile Shipments into the US

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA) has announced that with effect from January 1, 2009, all textile shipments originating from mainland China and bound for the U.S. will no longer be subject to quota restrictions or electronic visa (ELVIS) transmission requirements.

In addition, from February 1, 2009, textile shipments exported from China in 2008 in categories that are over-subscribed will be allowed entry, subject to a monthly limit capped at 5% of the 2008 base limit.
