Logistics Insight Asia - Top Story, 5/8/2008

MHE-Demag in Singapore, in partnership with Dongyang Menics from Korea, delivered the first mechanized car parking system for Singapore Land & Transport Authority (LTA) at Club Street earlier this year.

Operating as a public parking facility, the system is a 10m, four-story standalone structure with three lifts, which can be designated as entrance or exit depending on the traffic.

The average retrieval time for this system is about 90s. With a buildup area of less than 1,000sqm, it can accommodate up to 140 parking spaces.

The mechanized car park system weighing 122 tons consists of electrical control, machinery and steel structure. The steel structure and machinery installation and electrical installation took about 66 and 20 days respectively.
