The GX Series: Operator at Heart, Owner in Mind

Logistics Insight Asia - New Products, 14/7/2008

As part of a series of major new product launches this year, Nissan Forklift introduced the all-new IC engine powered GX Series for heavy loads at the CeMAT exhibition in Hannover, Germany. Developed for all of its global markets, Nissan's GX Series will be available in Europe,Japan and USA. Production for the European market will commence in August 2008.

The new GX Series design reflects a sturdy and tough look. It is available with both original Nissan TB45 LPG and TD42 diesel engines. The truck will become available in capacities ranging from 3.5 tonne up to 5.0 tonne, all at 600 mm load centre. The latter features a longer wheelbase. The truck is designed for heavy duty operations in areas such as harbour transport, construction, recycling and bottling industries.

The GX provides a wide step for easy access, while its massive legroom enhances the already spacious cabin. An adjustable suspension seat and the adjustable steering wheel allow each operator to select his ideal driving position. An optional "high comfort seat" offers enhanced comfort, as its name would imply.

A standard high overhead guard provides generous headroom for the operator. Excellent all-around visibility is offered by the optional tailor-made CLEARVISION cabin with a panoramic front view. During adverse weather situations the cabin offers a pleasant working office for the operator in order to stay free from rain, wind and cold.

The pedal lay out borrows its design from our automotive heritage, resulting in reduced operator confusion, while its directional and fore-aft levers also use a style similar to Nissan's cars.

The GX Series also offers optional FINGERTIP electro-hydraulic control levers, making travel direction, horn and lift operations simple with just a slight tip of the finger. The controls are ergonomically integrated in the right-hand armrest and provide increased comfort and productivity as a result.
