NEC Asia Appoints new CEO

NEC Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, and a leading supplier of information and communications technology, announced recently that Mr Kiyofumi Kusaka has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Kusaka, an IT veteran, was in charge of IT system development and systems integration at the International Business Coordination Division of NEC Corporation in Japan from 1980 to 2000. He also served as the President for NEC Thailand Ltd and NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd from 2001 to 2006. Prior to joining NEC Asia, Mr Kusaka was the General Manager with the International Solutions Promotion Division at NEC Corporation in Japan.

Mr Kusaka replaces Mr Tomohiro Yagi, who has been leading NEC Asia, the regional headquarters for NEC Corporation in South and Southeast Asia since April 2004. Mr Yagi will be returning to Japan, to assume the position of Vice-president, Enterprise Solutions Business Unit at NEC Corporation.
