YCH RECOGNIZED FOR SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY

Logistics Insight Asia, 1/5/2008

Singapore-based YCH Group has become the first end-toend supply chain management (SCM) provider in the world to receive international supply chain security management system standards certification ISO 28000: 2007, which acknowledges YCH’s adoption of a total supply chainapproach to security.

“Entrusting a company to manage your supply chain is akin to depositing money in a bank – our customers entrust us with the security management of their goods and it is an imperative that we are accountable to them.

“This certification will give customers greater peace of mind and reinforce the trust they have in the security management system and measures that we have in place to secure their billions of inventory fl owing through our hubs daily,” said Dr Robert Yap, Chairman and CEO, YCH Group. Last year, the company handled an annual flow-through of more than US$50 billion worth of goods for its MNC customers in the region along the secured supply chain.

The ISO 28000: 2007 standard, awarded by certifying body Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, provides security-based frameworks and processes to assure that the supply chain is secure. This also prevents vulnerabilities and manages risks in the supply chain.
