ORACLE ‘FASTEST GROWING’ SCM SOFTWARE VENDOR

According to industry analysts Gartner, Oracle’s Asia Pacific Supply Chain Management (SCM) revenues increased 80 percent in 2006, which makes it the fastest growing among the top five vendors in the sector and four times faster than its nearestcompetitors.

These results were revealed in“Dataquest Insight: SCM SoftwareMarket Review, 2006” report,which is Gartner’s annual marketshare study . According to thereport, the Asia Pacific SCM marketgrew by 11.6 percent in 2006,reaching US$301.1 million inlicense and maintenance revenue.

“Organizations of all sizes across Asia Pacific are looking to implement supply chain management solutions to drive competitiveness and profitable growth given today’s volatile business environment,” said Jasbir Singh, Senior Director, Supply Chain Management Applications, Oracle Asia Pacific.

“Their focus has shifted significantly beyond implementing ERP for administrative improvements to strategic SCM solutions that power information-driven value chains. Strategic SCM applications offer companies new capabilities to gain visibility into and effectively harness the enormous amount of data across their entire supply chain network.”

The industry is increasingly recognizing the company’s strengths as a leading provider in supply chain management and logistics applications, says Oracle. During the last 12 months, Oracle garnered several independent industry awards in Asia for its supply chain management and logistics solutions.
