YCH Launches First RFID Project in Shanghai Lingang Logistics Park
Logistics Insight Asia - Industry News, 6/3/2008
Leading Singapore-based logistics and supply chain management company YCH Group has launched the industrial zone’s first Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) project at the Shanghai Lingang Logistics Park. This project, developed in collaboration with Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co. Ltd., will provide a standard framework for the future implementation of RFID technology in other warehouses in Lingang.
The implementation of the technology, developed by supply chain solutions provider and leader in RFID solution implementation Y3 Technologies, will provide the current YCH warehouse as well as future facilities in the park with increased security and a more precise and visible inventory information system, to enable better productivity and efficiency within the organization. Concurrently, YCH is also in the process of building another RFID-enabled YCH DistriPark in Lingang that is expected to be ready at the end of the year.
The technology’s introduction will provide a standard middleware interface for warehouse management systems and RFID system interaction for a seamless management of inventory and movement of goods. It will also provide a uniform communication interface between warehouse management systems and Yangshan Free Trade Port Area Management System Platform for efficient workflow with the various government bureaus.
The Lingang Logistics Park’s adjacency to Yangshan Deep Water Port and proximity to Pudong International Airport makes it a strategic location for YCH to integrate YCH’s best practices in innovative cutting-edge technology implementation and knowledge of the Asian economic landscape to build a logistics superhighway.
