“Green” Businesses Like Encore Tire Recovery Select RedPrairie’s Fleet Management Solution

Logistics Insight Asia - Industry News, 12/2/2008

RedPrairie Corporation announced recently that Encore Tire Recovery, makers of a mobile tire shredding system that turns scrap tires into environmentally friendly products, has selected RedPrairie’s Fleet Management solution to support their growing business.

According to Paul Merklinger, CEO of Encore, “Over 280 million scrap tires are discarded throughout the United States each year, posing the second worst environmental problem in the country, if not the world. Our ‘Encore T2’ mobile shredding vehicle has the capacity to shred 500 tires per hour which are later turned into environmentally friendly products at an Encore processing facility. RedPrairie’s Fleet Management solution is going to allow us to scale our business, save money, and ensure our ‘T2’ fleet operations are efficient and environmentally-responsible.”

Merklinger continued, “Combining RedPrairie Fleet Management with our financial management systems, we will be able to have more immediate financial information available to us. This is vital to managing a growth curve of up to 300 trucks in service over the next three years.”

“Efficient fleet planning and daily routing saves fuel and time – critical factors to a growing and ‘green’ business like Encore,” says Erv Bluemner, VP of Product Strategy for Transportation at RedPrairie. “As Encore continues to grow, we think they will see enormous efficiencies and cost savings from our Fleet Management solution.”
