BDP ESTABLISHES OIL & GAS LOGISTICS UNIT

BDP Project Logistics has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary – BDP Oil and Gas Logistics. Incorporated with headquarters in Singapore, the company will target the growing opportunities in the global oil and gas supply chain.
With BDP Project Logistics and its parent company, BDP International (BDP), already active in energy, chemical and petrochemical logistics, with customers including Shell, Exxon Mobil and DuPont, BDP Oil and Gas Logistics will extend service offerings to include mid and upstream market activities within the oil and gas supply chain, allowing BDP to offer a total service solution to oil and gas companies.
Martin Runshaug, commercial director of BDP Oil and Gas Logistics, said the vertical was formed to meet the need for a total logistics services provider that can offer total integrated logistics solutions with emphasis on quality, health, safety, environment and compliance.
“The new company combines BDP’s two principal strengths: its position as a global leader in the downstream sector as well as its expertise in project logistics. Our ability to off er turnkey logistics solutions – from supply chain management of rig and FPSO new building and conversions, through to the transportation of heavy-lift structures supported by our in-house transport engineering division, and finally logistics support for off shore and onshore assets in operation– is what gives BDP Oil and Gas Logistics an edge over its competitors,” said Runshaug.
According to Runshaug, the energy sector is set to boom in the coming decade with an increase in exploration and production to meet the demands of emerging nations.
“BDP Oil and Gas Logistics expects significant activity in the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, West Africa, Brazil, Vietnam, China, India, and Australasia as well as the Arctic regions,” he said.
