DB Schenker Launches “Growth Program” in Contract Logistics
Logistics Insight Asia - Top Story, 24/12/2009
DB Schenker has launched its “Go for Growth” program to bolster growth in its Contract Logistics business unit. The core of the four-year program will consist of investments in standardized logistics solutions and industrial processes, in addition to expanding the company’s worldwide business activities.
The focus of the capital expenditures will be on the automotive, consumer, electronics industries and mid-sized machine makers in defined regions. The main target countries are the US, Germany and China. Plans call for the company to hire up to 200 additional experts for the program.
One factor favoring the success of the “Go for Growth” program is the bundling together and intelligent linkage of employees’ know-how and industrial knowledge. This ensures that individual customer requirements will be met by a comprehensive reservoir of knowledge. Furthermore, up to 200 additional logistics specialists will be needed around the world to handle the project’s sales and operational tasks.
