Logistics Insight Asia - Industry News, 20/11/2009
Agility Fairs and Events is continuing its preparation for Shanghai Expo 2010. It has recently been awarded the international freight for a number of country pavilions. It has also been appointed as the sole provider of cold chain logistics for the entire expo site throughout the duration of the event.
Agility will be handling the logistics for the Australia, New Zealand, Pacific countries, and Finland Pavilions, amongst others. Work is underway on transporting the supplies and equipment that are required to construct, prepare, and present these pavilions.
With several million visitors due at the six month long event, which will run through the height of the summer, the company will play a critical role in keeping visitors cool through its handling of the onsite distribution for temperature controlled daily supplies.
It will have close to 10,000 square meters of temperature controlled storage space in and around the Expo site. This is to ensure that all materials, products and produce will be kept in optimum condition during event at its temperature controlled facilities. Around 100 temperature controlled trucks will be used to handle the on-site distribution and to ensure that there are enough supplies.
