DHL: Medical Express Service for Life Science Industry

Logistics Insight Asia - Top Story, 3/7/2009

DHL has launched its enhanced Medical Express service, for the inbound and outbound transportation of time sensitive medicines, clinical supplies and time sensitive specimens, critical during the clinical trials phase of new medications.
The service provides dedicated transportation services and advanced tracking technologies for time sensitive medicines and clinical supplies.
“We have an experienced team of experts and dedicated personnel operating in more countries than before who are supporting Medical Express. Each team has a zero-default target and pro-actively solves shipment delays, regulatory and cultural issues, to ensure fast, reliable and efficient logistics for clinical trials programs,” said DHL Express’ VP for Product Development, Roland Thomas.

Companies within the life sciences industry are looking for more reliable and efficient ways of managing the time sensitive nature of Clinical Trials. Recognizing this, DHL Express has been enhancing its service to offer additional benefits. These include priority handling to confirm shipment delivery to a pre-12 promise, and proactive location tracking by the DHL Quality Control Center network to ensure ambient, chilled or frozen shipments are constantly monitored through to their delivery.
